Pronounced "joi-aen" — think Joy plus Ann.
Or feel free to call me Joy, I happily answer to both!
I’m an INTJ-A and a CD type, which means I’m strategic, focused, confident, and serious about advocating for both my users and my employer’s success. I have a natural drive to work hard and deliver excellence, but I’m also making room for a fulfilling life outside of work, surrounded by loved ones and meaningful relationships.
When I’m not problem-solving at my desk, you’ll find me indulging in hobbies that let my imagination run wild—colorful makeup looks, costumes, photography, or daily fashion. I’m also a gamer at heart, always up for a good co-op or RPG to unwind after a long day.
Volunteering is another way I stay connected to my values, giving back to my community whenever I have the capacity. I’m passionate about blending curiosity, creativity, and advocacy in everything I do, ensuring that both work and life are as fulfilling as they are meaningful.
Early in my academic career, I focused solely on Computer Science, immersing myself in programming classes, competitions, jobs, and clubs—all of which I loved.
The pivotal moment came during my time as an undergraduate research assistant in the Smart Home Lab. Working on human-centered projects inspired my shift from software engineering to user experience design, where I found my true passion.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of designing for the healthcare industry—a dream of mine since graduation—and developing my expertise in technical product management and agile/scrum methodologies. Today, I blend my technical background with a deep empathy for users to create products that truly make a difference.
